The "wintergarden" - Le "jardin d'hiver"
For us, it has been a real pleasure discovering our garden/yard. It's lots of work, but after a week in front of the computer, it's relaxing. Gardening brings us some balance. We also feel like we are more aware of the changing seasons, and winter is much less depressing (although colder than in town).
In the front yard, it didn't thaw for a week. It looked almost like it had snowed!

On the right, the straight edge is where our front walk used to be...until Greg decided to rip it out one weekend, an option we had discussed for SOME day. The paving stones are a temporary solution.
What a difference a couple of months make. Here's the same view now.
Quelle différence depuis quelque mois. Voici la même vue actuellement.
And here's the backyard. That the Christmas tree of our charming neighbours Nadine and Christian. The skimmia bush was a gift from Greg's uncle Jean-Jacques and his wife Corinne.
